Voice Synthesizer

A [335] word vocabulary carefully selected for amateur repeater operation is available to construct [12] different voice messages. Each message can be [15] words in length. Configure your repeater ID and announcements to suit your particular needs.

DTMF Key-Pad Test
The key-pad test will read back the numbers decoded in a synthesized voice. This includes the words "STAR" and "POUND".

Courtesy Tone
The CAT-200B provides individual courtesy tones for both the repeater and remote base inputs. Different courtesy tones can be selected to indicate port activity.

The CAT-200B will switch to a CW ID when a user talks over the voice ID .

Beacon Mode
When the repeater is inactive, if you choose, the CAT-200B will continue to transmit a voice message at the rate determined by the programmable beacon timer.

Link Transceiver Control
The CAT-200B offers full control of the link port. You can turn the link transceiver on and off, through the repeater or remote base port. Separate codes are available for each on/off function.

DTMF Decoder
The two Mitel M8870 insures reliable decoding of control and programming commands.

Logic Inputs
Four logic inputs activated by a voltage change from other equipment at the repeater site, causes the CAT-200B to activate voice messages as alarms or announcements. Information about the repeater site will be instantly available.

Output Switches
Four switches are available to control equipment at your repeater site. Controlled manually by DTMF commands or from a voice message, they can be made to turn ON, OFF or Momentarily change state, any time you choose.

Repeater Timers
Eight timers control repeater operation. Each timer is user programmable to afford maximum flexibility to suit your requirements. They are: Repeater ID Timer, Repeater Time-out timer, Remote Base Time-out timer, COR drop to courtesy beep timer and courtesy beep to transmitter drop timer.

Repeater Control Channels
The CAT-200B has 32 remote control channels. Divided into groups, according to their function, they can be manually controlled through the repeater input. They are:

Repeater Transmitter  Enable  DTMF Muting Enable
Remote Base Transmit Enable  Repeater Time-out Enable
Repeater CTCSS Enable  Remote Base Time-out Enable
Remote Base CTCSS Enable  DTMF Pad Test Enable
CTCSS "AND" / "OR" Enable  Logic Input #1 Enable
Remote Base Receiver Only Enable  Logic Input #2 Enable
Identification Enable  Logic Input #3 Enable
Remote Base Control Enable  Logic Input #4 Enable
Remote Base Voice Enable  Switch #1 Enable
Weather Report Enable  Switch #2 Enable
Transceiver Mode Enable  Switch #3 Enable
Courtesy Tone Enable  Switch #4 Enable
Hang Time Enable  Beacon Mode Enable
Internet EchoLink® Enable  Fan Control Enable

Repeater Programming
An extensive set of programming commands permits you to customize your repeater's operation. Protection is provided by a user programmable [7] digit un-lock number. Once un-locked, use the programming commands to load voice messages, change prefix codes and timer settings.

Remote Transceiver With Weather Station Interface

In this configuration the CAT-200B supports a transceiver and a Peet Brothers Weather Station for obtaining weather reports from a location other than the repeater site. When in this configuration, the transceiver is tuned to the repeater's output. When a DTMF command is received matching the pre-programmed code, the CAT-200B will key the transceiver and send a weather report as received from the Peet Brothers Weather Station.

Remote Kenwood Transceiver With Weather Station Interface
The CAT-200B is connected directly to the microphone jack of a Kenwood transceiver. Voltage to power the CAT-200B is derived from the +8VDC output pin #5 of the microphone jack. For example if the equipment is located at the repeaters trustee's house and tuned to the repeater's output frequency, when the proper DTMF command is received, the CAT-200B will key the transceiver and send a weather report to the input of the repeater. The CAT-200B will also work in parallel with a Peet Brothers Weather Station and a packet modem if desired.

CI-200 Interface Board
The external CI-200 Interface board is used to capture the Peet weather station Long Data Record and also provide an RS-232 port to program the CAT-200B with the ED-200 Windows Editor.
