1.00 Aug 1, 1992

1) CAT-1000 released to production.

1.01 Sep 12, 1992

1) Added Zone 5 channel 6, fast modem answer.

2) Activated voice message control 170.

3) All modem commands activated with two new commands (STAT & VERS) added.

4) At power-up, the voice now reads the version of both ROM's.

5) Receiver audio's are turned off whenever a forced "D" key is detected and before the entered command is acted upon.

1.02 Sep 26, 1992

1) New CW buffer added with a buffer length of 32 characters. The old CW buffer was enlarged to hold 64 characters. New CW characters also added.

2) Repeater voice ID's and CW ID's configured as "at rest" and "active" identifications.

3) Tone programming selections drop to 500Hz.

4) Link/Remote xceiver control bridge added.

1.03 Oct 19, 1992

1) Tone frequencies display in the CRT routine updated to display between 500..1200 Hz.

2) Area code CRT routine activated.

3) When in the link mode of operation, calling the bridge code will now "force" link the repeater.

4) When in the link mode of operation, link on, link off, and link auto disconnect message will transmit out the link even with zone 6, channel 5 off.

1.04 Nov 8, 1992

1) Added the ARRL LiTZ (Long Tone Zero) alerting function to activate macro 40. LiTZ is controlled by zone 2, channel 5. Tone "on" requirement time has been set for 3.2 seconds.

2) Ckdtmf1 DTMF process ordering revised.

3) Remote base "audio mix" channel added as zone 2, channel 8.

4) CW speeds are now 25, 20, 18, 15, 13, 10 WPM.

5) Repeater "at rest" ID is now keyed off the ID timer rather than the sleep timer.

1.05 Nov 21, 1992

1) Doug Hall RB1 unit activated.

2) All link frequency buffers increased from two bytes to six bytes as required to control the Doug Hall RB1.

3) Dip switch 3,4 and 5 now configures the repeater as control, dual repeater, backbone link, or remote base.

1.06 Dec 19,1992

1) Alternate reverse autopatch activated.

2) Pulse dialing changed from 20 PPS to 10 PPS for some customers with 20 PPS dialing problems.

3) Crt command USFW corrected and changed to UFSW.

4) Autopatch command *3 (radio mute) can now be activated while a patch is in progress.

5) Autopatch commands changed as follows:
* (A/P timer extend) changed to *1
** (Hook flash) changed to *2.

2.00 Feb 20, 1993

1) Strobe output #1 configured as a reset line for the Doug Hall RBI-1 unit.

2) CRT time-out timer now refreshed only through the EXTN command.

3) Several changes made to the TS440 HF op's as follows:
A. Step frequencies changed to 200Hz, 500Hz, and 1000Hz.
B. Scan frequencies changed to 2.5, 0.5, and 0.1 seconds.
C. Mode letters L,U,A,C, or F appended to the
frequency read operation.
D. CW ID#2 added in both command and operation
loop.
E. Automatic disconnect added with the disconnect time-out set for 30 minutes.
F. Internal command pointers, 7401 and 7501 added which activates the HF loop.
G. If the TS440 is in sideband mode, new frequency loads above 10MHz will switch mode to USB and below 10 MHz to LSB.
H. Command (Prefix) 40 added which reads back the 440's mode letter.
I. Command (Prefix) 48 added for selecting the CW mode.
J. Whenever the HF is in the transmit mode, a DTMF input will shut down the HF PTT.

4) Operation 100"99" to clear flags and 100"98" to voice the repeater ROM versions added.

2.01 Mar 21, 1993

1) New STATS manual autopatch number counter and SD number counter has been implemented.

2) CW ID #2 frequency tag identification within the CRT control "call" fixed.

3) Frequency read back when loading a new link transceiver frequency with the "525" command has been added.

2.02 Mar 25, 1993 1) New feature Reverse paging process added.
2.03 Apr 16, 1993 1) Courtesy beep delay parameter difference between PRGM and CRT has been corrected.
2.04 Apr 26, 1993

1) Yaesu FT-767GX transceiver operations added to provide full operation of the HF - UHF.

2) The TS440 HF radio split command was added.

3) DTMF programming command *29X added as an identifier for the type of HF being used.

4) CTCSS override channel (zone 1, channel 4) fixed providing the user with CTCSS only to key the repeater without the need for zone 1, channel 3 to be on.

5) Audio mix channel (zone 2, channel 8) feature added to scheduled voice messages.

6) User function #1 output switches on during reverse paging and back off during talk back.

7) Reverse paging time-out timer extended from 10 sec to 1 minute with the capability of putting the phone on-hook with a # entry.

2.05 May 8, 1993

1) Ring announcement algorithm re-written.

2) Dip switch #6 now reloads the zone channels, CRT login, unlock code, and the control operator code to their default values. There is no memory clear.

2.06 June 1, 1993

1) With zone 1 channels 2 and 4 on, the system can now check touch tone access if channel 3 is turned on in addition to the above channels.

2) Pulse dialing selection added to the program area as a software switch. User can now select 10 or 20 PPS. *298=Read & *299=Toggle.

3) BCD logic output of the MF-1000 serial board now matches the CAT-500 logic.

4) Sixteen new three digit voice vocabulary digits added which sends the 16 DTMF tones. 180-195.

5) Reverse DTMF paging has been activated. Code is stored at *525 and defaults to 875.

6) CRT 4800 baud operation can now be entered via DTMF command 100(control op's code)97.

7) Power-up macro has been activated. Macro 39 is called just after the version voice mess.

2.07 July 5, 1993

1) Speed dial operations no longer require zone 4 channel 1 to be on for speed dial op's.

2) Internal command 8200 has been fixed.

2.08 Oct 4, 1993

1) Internal command 7003 added to reset the Push Button or Doug Hall interface box.

2) Internal command 7004 added for Bridge up.

3) Internal command 7005 added for Bridge down.

4) The link on, off and receive only control via a macro or scheduler now does not include the voice announcements.

5) Stored 40 frequency memory channels now can support the Doug Hall RBI-1.

6) Audio squelch capability added to the HF radio process. Dip switch #2 determines the HF radio's squelch polarity input. HF control [HF prefix] 50 will disable the squelch and force the audio on. [HF prefix] 51 will activate the squelch operation.

2.09 Nov 20, 1993

1) Whenever in remote base operations with the muting on, PTT#2 will drop with the first DTMF input unless proceeded by a #.

2) Frequency load of a Doug Hall stored frequency will not key PTT#2 and will shift the system into link receive only mode.

3) DTMF muting beeps and autopatch radio muting beeps now are directed out through the courtesy tone beep pot.

4) Macro calls within a voice message has been added. Voice commands 172 will call macro number 2, voice command 179 will call macro 9. It is important that a voice message with a macro call does not call a macro which also has a voice message call within it.

5) Whenever in backbone operations with the muting on, PTT#2 will drop with the first DTMF input unless proceeded by a #. This operation was added after test were conducted whenever the system is configured as a remote base.

3.00 Jan 7, 1994

1) Second tone length for the paging tones has been increased from 2 sec to 3 sec.

2) LITZ timer "laser" trimmed to 3.0 seconds.

3.00A May 08, 1994

1) Paging tone frequencies have been opened to include all frequencies within the six paging tone groups.

2) Normal autopatch number length without long distance enabled will accept any digit length up to seven digits.

3) When autopatch long distance is enabled, any digit count (over seven digit length) is now accepted with no check for a beginning 0 or 1.

4) Telephone area code checking can now check either a 10 or 11 digit number. If a 11 digit number, we'll check for a 1 first then look up the area code table for a match on digit 2..4. If a 10 digit number has been entered, we'll match against the first 3 digits without the check for a leading 1.

5) Serial card UF switch load command via CRT op's was loading reverse (MSB/LSB) and it has been corrected to load identical to the way DTMF UF switch programming command does.

6) In the monitor by telephone mode of operation, when connecting for a QSO with command 1#, the telephone is no longer connected as a reverse autopatch. Now the telephone caller is audio connected in duplex and the PTT forced on continuous until the telephone user disconnects or a time out condition occurs.

3.00B May 12, 1994 1) Internal commands 4400..4409, 4420..4440, 4500..4509, and 4520..4540 have been added to provide a means for the user to change courtesy beep tones on-the-fly.
3.00C Jun 17, 1994

1) During DTMF programming, PTT #2 is disabled when configured as receive only mode.

2) Forty link preset frequencies can now be programmed for the RBI-1 Kenwood control unit.

3) Monitor repeater by telephone when activated will disable the link input side if enabled prior to this command. When completed, the link will reconfigure back to the way it was.

3.00D Aug 5, 1994

1) Command pointers 38XX and 39XX have been activated.

2) Bridge command now ends with two fixed digits in place of the previous single digit.

3) Macro control command (backbone only) has been added without the need to be bridged.

4) Timer 619, link disconnect timer, added.

5) Whenever a DTMF command (Generator or Re-generator) is requested, if the link flag is active PTT#2 will force key.

3.00E Sep 17, 1994

1) Read back confirmation command 150 00 has been added to determine the status of the bridge and macro flag.

2) Force tone shutdown process has been inserted whenever COR drops within both CKDTMF's.

3.00F Oct 29, 1994

1) Internal command pointer 44XX and 46XX was not operating correctly between voice message 36 and 40. This has been corrected.

2) During backbone op's, PTT#2 will now activate whenever a macro is executed without the system linked.

3) Automatic disconnect timer (619) was not being refreshed correctly and has been fixed.

4) Link flag "turn-off" with repeater COR has been corrected.

5) Reverse autopatch is now not disturbed if COR is present on the link input port.

6) Doug Hall RBI-1 memory routine was added to accommodate the RBI-1 version 3.0 update.

7) RBI-1 frequency, memory, and CTCSS load with a trailing # will skip the voice verification.

3.01 Sept 21, 1995

1) New DVR identification added for configuring between the DVR-1000 and DVM-58.

2) Within the normal loop, off hook and modem control lines are forced off in case they are somehow being triggered on.

3.02 Oct 4, 1995 1) More changes made to the DVR-1000 for the CAT-300 which required CAT-1000 changes.
3.03 Nov 11, 1995

1) Litz activation from #2 receiver while in dual repeater mode has been fixed.

2) Reverse autopatch connect from the #2 receiver while in dual repeater mode has been fixed.

3) A 30 second timeout timer has been added inside the DVR busy loop just incase the DVR gets locked up.

4) Monitor by phone operation has been overhauled to clear up the audio loading problems.

5) A manual frequency load of a Doug Hall frequency cuts off both CTCSS encode and decode. Previous this operation only occurred if a different band was being loaded.

6) Link auto shutdown timer has been loaded during a 7001 and 7002 command call.

3.03A Jan 25, 1996

1) Link flag and bridge flag are re-configured if an autopatch call is aborted.

2) Doug Hall power off command 7609/7709 has been added to the internal command structure.

3.03B Mar 10, 1996

1) Expanded user function switches on the Doug Hall unit is now changing from a macro call.

2) DVR identification byte has been moved into non-volatile memory.

3.03C Jun 22, 1996

1) DVR-1000 expanded user function control was causing interference with the Doug Hall RBI-1 if a DVR-1000 UF command was executed from a macro command.

2) A safety net voice synthesizer shut-down procedure was added at PTT drop which calls a voice pause message.

3) While within the autopatch operating loop, checking if the main AP channel zone 4 channel #1 has been turned off is no longer checked. This was dumping those users who wanted to turn off the manual AP but keep the system available for speed dial users.

3.03D Sep 14, 1996 1) Voice timeout timer has been extended to prevent long voice words from timing out the voice timer.
3.03E Mar 21, 1997

1) Improvements to the CAT1000 serial Xmodem upload and download functions. Each process was enhanced for the new Cat_Comm windows communication program.

2) Increased modem connection time from 15 sec to 30 seconds to enable operation with newer modems who search for a baud lock with 300 baud being last on the list.

3) Activated the expanded DVR outputs upon a power-up to their last state.

3.04 Jul 01, 1997

1) Macro call to load internal RBI-1 frequency was loading the CTCSS tone off by one and has been corrected.

2) Improvements made to the monitor by telephone process.

3.04A Mar 01, 1998 1) Within a Macro, loading a DH VFO frequency after a Kenwood memory load now zero's out the Kenwood buffer #5 and #6.
4.00 May 10, 1998 1) Peet Brothers weather station software added.
4.00A July 22, 1998 1) Davis weather station software added.
4.01 Apr 18, 2001

1) Group paging tones added. If paging tone 1 and 2 are the same, the CAT-1000 will send the programmed tone in position #1 for 8 seconds.

2) Programming a double DVR track call within a macro was not working (no 2nd DVR track) and has been corrected.

3) Zone 8 pulsing command was not working over the telephone control mode and has been corrected.

4) Davis Rain Gauge reading was corrected. More time was necessary between interrogation and the reading response.

5) Commands added: *23 bump clock hour down by one and *24 bump clock up by an hour.

6) Macro Bridge flag moved to non-volatile memory to restore the macro operation function after
a power fail.

7) Fixed DVR track calling for track 11-16 not working when called from the scheduler.

4.02 Dec 14, 2001 1) Clock read/write changed to support the new Dallas NVRAM DS1644 device.
4.03 Mar 1, 2002 1) Cleaned up and optimized all NVRAM memory after implementing changes in version 4.02.
